Slasher Cuts Teenager for Her Parking Spot

Murfreesboro, TN - A 17 year old Middle Tennessee State University freshman underwent 2 hours of surgery recently following an attack in the school parking lot over a parking space. The teenage student, Ashley Ramsay, was reportedly cut on her left shoulder and hand, as well as a more serious slash to her temple. Her alleged attacker, 19 year old Starlett Custer, was arrested at the scene.

Police were not identifying the weapon, except to say that the wounds were consistent with a “bladed instrument” but were not being more specific.

A third student on the scene tried to intervene, then called 911. (Source)

“There was blood all over. Blood on her hair, blood on the car, blood on the pavement,” said parking authority employee Howard Rhodes, who was working in the parking lot when the assault happened. “It was ugly. It seemed like [Custer] came at her 20 times.” (Source)

According to the victims father, Tim Ramsay, both girls were vying for the same parking spot, as a third car was vacating the space.

“The attacker came over and Ashley thought she was cutting her tire … She got out (of the car) to see what was going on. When she got out of the car, this girl attacked her.”(Source)

Starlett Custer is being charged with Aggravated Assault which in Tennessee carries a penalty of between 15 and 60 years.

Olympic Dad Slashed to Death in Beijing by Crazed Chinese

Tragedy mars the first day of the Olympics in Beijing when the father of Olympian Elisabeth “Wiz” Bachman was brutally slain, and her mother seriously injured, by a “deranged Chinese man” wielding a knife.

Todd and Barbara Bachman of Lakeville, Minn. — parents of 2004 volleyball Olympian Elisabeth “Wiz” Bachman and in-laws of U.S. men’s volleyball coach Hugh McCutcheon — were attacked by a Chinese man while visiting the 13th-century Drum Tower.

The U.S. Olympic Committee confirmed Bachman died from knife wounds and that Barbara Bachman suffered life-threatening injuries. She and their Chinese tour guide, who was also injured in the attack, were being treated in a Beijing hospital.

The assailant, Tang Yongming, leapt to his death following the attack.
