Obama Scores Big at Bronco’s Stadium
Friday, August 29th, 2008

Speaking last night to 84,000 wildly cheering Americans at Denver’s Invesco Field (formerly Mile High Stadium), Barack Obama literally scored on every play.
One early example was when he, after making sure to first honor John McCain for his military service, added:
“Senator McCain likes to talk about judgment, but really, what does it say about your judgment when you think George Bush has been right more than ninety percent of the time?”
- Sen. Barack Obama
The line received applause and laughter, and left no doubt that this nominee was going to be hitting back and hitting back hard on his Republican opponent. He was not taking the high road of the last two Democratic candidates, but in fact had saved many of the attacks on his opponent for his own speech, something quite uncommon.
But this entire Obama candidacy is quite uncommon. It’s story is so remarkable as to be a uniquely American tale. Plucked from obscurity by his phenomenal 2004 speech to the DNC, when he was a lowly Illinois State Senator. A scant four years later he’s standing before 84,000 people to accept their nomination as the party’s standard bearer.
His meteoric rise is evidence that this nation is ready for change, but the politics of fear will come into play in the next 67 days also. The Republican election machine has much experience in scaring voters, and will pull out all the stops this time.
Even so, I don’t think it will be enough. Obama’s campaign will continue to tie McCain to Bush Cheney, which will be made even easier following the Republican convention where they are both slated to speak.
McCains’ in trouble, but like a cornered animal he’s still dangerous. His campaign has already shown it will stoop to any low, and expect it to get worse over the final two months.

Teddy’s Still Got It!
Tuesday, August 26th, 2008
[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lCNPMzVFpg8]
It’s amazing how good Ted Kennedy looks in this video, considering how bad off he was just a few weeks ago. His commitment to Obama and this election are truly inspiring.
Here are two of my favorite parts of Sen. Kennedy’s speech (full video above).
Barack Obama will be a Commander in Chief that understands young Americans in uniform must never be committed to a mistake, but only to a mission worthy of their bravery!

The work begins anew; the hope rises again; and the dream lives on!
We hope that Ted will be there on 1/20/09 to see Barack Obama sworn in as our next president.
